May Love E-Letter 2018

IT’S NOT TOO HARD!

Spring is one of our favorite times of the year because it represents NEW beginnings. That is why Christi and I wanted to be married in the Spring. Our new season began 20 years ago and continues to be an amazing adventure together! But for any of us to have a new start in life, we must lay aside ALL that would distract. Two of the predominate lies the enemy uses to distract us from embracing our new start are:

                                               “It’s too late.

                                                         It’s too hard.”

Last month we addressed the first lie, “It’s too late.”  (Read it at shop.mylon.org/blogs/news) The second deception, is how the enemy tries to pressure us to back off of our faith in God’s Word. He tries to convince us that in the chaotic world we live, it is just too hard to serve God. But once again, the devil is a liar! The Truth of God’s Word is the only thing that will make us FREE. God said in Deuteronomy 30:11 that His Word, “...is NOT too difficult for us.” Then in Philippians 4:13 AMPC, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” We CAN DO EVERYTHING He instructed us to do in His Word because Christ the anointed One and His anointing abides in us to strengthen us!

So how do we STAY strong in the midst of turbulent times? Ephesians 6:10 explains that strength comes FIRST from our fellowship with The Lord: Be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength FROM HIM [that strength which His boundless might provides.]” The more we fellowship with Him in prayer and through studying His Word, the stronger we will be.

Another key to staying strong when you FEEL weak, is what comes out of your mouth. Joel 3:9-10 teaches us, Prepare for war! Wake up the mighty men…Let the weak SAY, ‘I am strong.’ When we are in a battle that we think we cannot handle, the first thing we need to do is start declaring, “I AM STRONG in the LORD and in the POWER of His might!” This is SO important for us to understand. It’s time to get these phrases out of our vocabulary:

“I can’t”                  “I don’t know if I can handle this”             “This is too hard.”

Christi and I have agreed to NEVER let the words above come out of our mouth. We understand that if we speak those words, we are accepting defeat. The Most High is on our side. His power NO foe can withstand! WE… CAN… DO… THIS, by the Grace of God!

Finally, when we are tempted to quit, we STAY strong through the POWER of PRAISE. In Nehemiah 8:10, the prophet told the people to celebrate and “Do not sorrow, for the JOY of the LORD is your strength.” This lets us know that when we are full of joy, we will be strong. We cannot allow grief and sorrow to steal our peace and our joy! In Romans 4:20 we learn that Abraham (who waited over 20 years for the promise of Isaac to be fulfilled) “he grew strong and was empowered by faith AS he gave PRAISE and GLORY TO GOD!” Please understand that we are not just talking about praising God at church. Anyone can praise when the band is awesome, and the choir is singing! But do we praise God at home, behind closed doors, when no one’s looking? Especially when another bad report has come in? God calls this the sacrifice of praise. THIS is how we pass the test and rise above the lies of the enemy that “this is too hard.” Always remember that His GRACE IS sufficient for His power is made perfect in our weakness. (II COR 12:9)

For example, because we understand the power of our words, Christi and I are vigilant when we are traveling and ministering to NEVER talk about how tired we feel or how hard it is to travel constantly, etc. We KNOW that we will only feel worse if we talk about it. Instead, we look at each other and say, “Our sleep was sufficient for us to do our job for JESUS today. This is going to be a great day in the presence of the Lord. And a fruitful day for His kingdom!” When we practice this, we are suddenly strengthened to do what we did not think we could handle moments before. His grace responds to faith filled words!!

As you sow your precious seed this month, be mindful that Joel 3:14 implores us that MULTITUDES are in the valley of decision because Jesus is coming soon! We are sharing with millions through “On the Road to Freedom” that ‘it’s never too late’ and ‘it’s not too hard’ to serve God. Your giving is supporting our TV ministry to the multitudes. THANK YOU for helping us. You will share in the eternal reward for every life that is changed by the TRUTH that they can have a NEW Beginning with Jesus!

Our hearts are full of love and gratitude for you.
