ARE YOU A PRAISER OR A COMPLAINER?

ARE YOU A PRAISER OR A COMPLAINER?

Dear Partner,

Glory to God, we are having a marvelous time serving The Lord! We just returned from filming in Charleston, SC. For the FIRST time, we used our NEW TV cameras and equipment. Wow, we can’t wait for you to see the gorgeous b-roll that our “dream team” was able to capture with these state of the art cameras that your giving paid for, THANK YOU! Your prayers also made a tremendous difference on this recent filming trip but there still were obstacles that we had to overcome by the grace of God. To do that, we had to refuse to be critical and choose instead to stay thankful.

We can make it to heaven finding fault when things don’t go our way but according to the Word, complaining will stop our dreams. In Matthew 12:33-34 King Jesus said: “for a tree is known by its fruit… For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” Negativity is a heart issue. It doesn’t matter what our excuse is, if we speak disrespectful, critical words then disrespect and criticism is in our heart. Here’s a quick test. Because words are the fruit by which we are known to others, if others were to describe us by words alone, what do you think they would say? Are you a Complainer or Praiser? Are you frustrated or thankful? A judgmental fault finder or a loving and kind encourager? People may not remember our exact words but they will remember how our words made them feel

We need to understand that being negative is not a little thing to God. When the Israelites complained, God called it wicked & evil. And they never made it to the promise land! Their dreams never came true. Why? Because the Word records that they were griping instead of being thankful. I Corinthians 10:10-11 NLT warns us, “And don’t grumble as some of them did, and then were destroyed by the angel of death. These things happened to them as EXAMPLES for us. They were written down to warn us who live at the end of the age.

Jesus is coming soon and choosing to be thankful affects our witness. Philippians 2:14-15 NKJV says, “Do ALL things without complaining… that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.” Understanding the following will set you free from negativity:

  • Our attitude belongs to us.
  • No one can make us have a bad attitude.
  • Being grateful is a choice of our will.

There are always things we can be thankful for and things that are frustrating because of sin in the world. We choose what we talk about! King David in Psalms 34:1 said, “I WILL bless the Lord at ALL times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Then in Psalms 103:1-5 NLT we remember all the good things God does for us. Please declare with us: “Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise His holy name. Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things He does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!”

As you sow your precious seed this month, with all our heart, thank you for investing in sharing the good news of the Gospel with viewers around the world. We believe that when they watch the beauty of God’s creation in On the Road to Freedom they will “taste and SEE that The Lord is GOOD!” We are standing with you for freedom from negativity, complaining and finding fault. We praise God with you and for YOU!

We love you and we are praying for you every day,
